Who We Are
The Community Loan Center of the Heart of Texas (CLCHOT), administered by Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc., has completed all the paperwork required to become a not for profit organization and a licensed lender in the State of Texas.
In November of 2016, Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc. launched the Community Loan Center of the Heart of Texas. The Community Loan Center provides an affordable small dollar loan program to area businesses, allowing them to offer loans as a benefit to their employees. The concept of the Community Loan Center was originally created to help people meet individual needs for short term loans that are quick and easily accessible. It was designed to provide an alternate source of loans away from local payday and auto title lenders with high interest rates and fees. CLC HOT wants to offer innovative loans that promote enhanced quality of life to low-to-moderate income persons. This aligns with Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc. mission by offering additional resources to empower financial stability to those with a disadvantage.
Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc. is a non-profit whose mission is “to actively pursue the full participation in society of people with disabilities and disadvantages by expanding their opportunities and capabilities through our employment and training programs”. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc. offers services that include Vocational Job Training, Free Computer Classes that cover Computer Basics, Internet & E-mail training, Intro to Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel, and Free Employability Skill Classes that help with Job Readiness. These classes include Job Search, Interview & Self Presentation, Customer Service Essentials, Resumes Writing, and Interview Skills. Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc. covers McLennan, Bell, Coryell, and Brazos Counties.
